What does it mean when the orange box finally outvalues the Monogram? This week, Interbrand ranked Hermès above Louis Vuitton for the first time, and it is not the only power shift on the board. Here is what moved in fashion and luxury over the past day, through Saturday morning, Oct 31, 2026. Every item is checked against its source and linked.

Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2026 puts Hermès at No. 15 with a brand value of 45.2 billion dollars, up 10.6%, one notch above Louis Vuitton at 45.1 billion, down 6.9%. Chanel rose 8.1% to 32.9 billion, while Gucci fell 24 places, Worthbury reports. Interbrand CEO Gonzalo Brujó: “For years, strong brands could assume their reputation would carry them through difficult periods. But that’s no longer enough.” Source: Worthbury

Capri Holdings shares jumped Friday after the group raised its annual revenue and profit forecasts and said it expects sales to return to growth, Reuters reports via BoF. The company’s own release shows second-quarter adjusted earnings of 42 cents a share, Michael Kors revenue down 8.6% to 663 million dollars and Jimmy Choo up 11.5%. CEO John Idol said the company is “encouraged by the momentum building at both Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo.” Source: BoF / Reuters

Nanushka shrinks to 20 people

The once-buzzy Hungarian label has closed all of its stores and cut its headcount to just 20 employees, BoF reports, amid losses and debt. Source: BoF

Why it matters for LA: Brand value follows scarcity. The Hermès waitlist on Rodeo is the whole story, and a Michael Kors rebound means sharper markdowns are less likely at the Grove this holiday.
