In six seconds: Dressen is a Belgian director based in Bangkok. His site lists more than twenty years of work. It says his short film The Passport won 18 awards and drew 72 nominations. We have asked him where the name “Hero” comes from. He has not yet answered.
Olivier “Hero” Dressen, a Belgian director, cinematographer and photographer, sent Nightlife Report ten images this week after agreeing to an interview. They are stills and posters from his commercials, music videos and short films.
Dressen is based in Bangkok, according to his website, herodirector.tv. The site says he has worked for more than twenty years. It says he usually writes and directs, and often shoots his own films.

Nightlife Report has not yet interviewed him. He sent no video, audio or written answers with the images. This profile relies on the images he supplied and on his public portfolio. Each claim below names its source.
The short film with 18 awards
One poster in the folder is for The Passport. His site says the film “received 18 awards and 72 nominations worldwide.”
The site names two other short films that won at the Stage 32 Short Film Contest: The Black Box and Kite. It says The Black Box won the contest’s Grand Prize. It says Kite was named Best International Short at the Malibu Film Festival.

The cover image for the Black Box trailer shows a couple standing against a city skyline. Festival laurels frame the top of the picture. A line of text reads “Based on a true story.”

Jaguar, Coke Studio, Sephora
Most of the folder is commercial work. His site lists the brands he has worked with: Coca-Cola, Frame, Jaguar, Coach, Xiaomi, Adobe Creative Cloud, Cartier, Chandon, Fujifilm, Heinz, Kinder and Moncler.
His site lists a Jaguar film titled “Journey To Planet X.” Its press page lists a Jaguar “Mission X” credit. It says he directed it and that Studio X Beyond produced it in 2024. The folder includes a night frame of a car’s rear lights.

The site lists two Coke Studio music films with the artist Xin Liu. One is with the French duo Ofenbach. The folder holds a Coke Studio banner. Two DJs stand at a booth.

For beauty, the site lists a Sephora film and a Too Faced China film. The Sephora still is a three-panel layout with the Sephora logo. The Too Faced China still shows a woman holding a makeup brush beside a neon diamond.

The site also lists an e& Etihad Airways film for the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix, called a director’s cut. The folder includes a frame of a red race car.

His site credits him with a Cannes Lions Silver in 2007 for an illustration for Heinz, “Mother and Child.” It credits the HaHa TV spot “Shanghai Playground” with a Promax BDA Bronze.
Where he works
The site says he has shot in Shanghai, Bangkok, Los Angeles, Paris, Brussels, Dubai and Kuala Lumpur. It says Studio Supreme, which he founded in 2013, is a production partner for his projects.
In a 2021 SHOUTOUT LA profile, Dressen said he is from Belgium. He said he spoke English while living in Brussels to avoid disputes over language. He named three people he admires: the photographers Laetitia Bica and Lisa Carletta and the director Phil Carron.
The Last Child
The newest film among the images is The Last Child. The site lists its official trailer.
The still in the folder is a title card. It reads “Studio Supreme Films presents” and “A film by Olivier Hero Dressen.” Beneath the English title is the Chinese title, 最后的孩子.

The site says some of his projects are hybrid or made entirely with superintelligence, using software he built. It lists Bryan Boyze, a concept trailer, under that work. The folder includes a neon-lit frame from it. A hooded figure stands beside a glowing dog.

What we have not been able to ask
Nightlife Report invited Dressen to an interview on Oct. 25. He replied the same day. “Hello Anthony! Sounds great and glad you found me within all the noise! Would definitely love to!” he wrote.
The editor sent a written questionnaire, a video option and a link for photos and video. One question was about his name: what is the story behind “Hero”? He signs his email Olivier “Hero” Dressen. His website is herodirector.tv.
He has since sent the ten images. As of Thursday morning, Nightlife Report had received no written answers and no video. When he answers, we will publish the interview here.
