Deal Desk · Nov. 3
Vote, lunch, shop. In that order, and at a discount.
Tuesday is a rare triple booking: Election Day, National Sandwich Day and the week retailers quietly start their early Black Friday sales. We read DealNews, Slickdeals and the brands’ own announcements so you can vote, lunch and shop without paying full price for any of it. Prices were checked on the morning of Nov. 3 and change quickly; confirm at checkout.
Getting to the Polls
- LA Metro, free all day. Los Angeles Magazine reports that Metro charges no fares on Election Day and hosts ballot drop boxes at 12 stations. Metro Bike Share: choose “1-Ride” and enter code 110326 for 30 free minutes. Metro Micro is free with no code. Drop boxes close at 8 p.m.
- Lyft, half off one ride to a polling place. Per the Slickdeals listing, code VOTE26 takes 50 percent off, up to 10 dollars, on one ride to a polling place on Nov. 3 between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. local time. Black and Black SUV rides are excluded; scooters and bikeshare are included.
The Sticker Pays
Krispy Kreme is giving a free Original Glazed doughnut on Nov. 3 at participating U.S. shops to anyone who says they voted or shows an “I Voted” sticker. No purchase is required; it is one per guest while supplies last. “Showing up for our communities – whether by voting or volunteering at the polls – is worth celebrating,” said Alison Holder of Krispy Kreme. Slickdeals members confirmed the offer in a community thread.
