Part of today’s What You Missed: Thursday, Oct 29.

The hook
500 percent. That is how much demand for Prada’s Wish Pouch grew in a single quarter, according to the Lyst Index for the third quarter of 2026, as reported by WWD on Oct. 28. The pouch was the quarter’s hottest product, and it carried Prada back to the top of the brand ranking.
What happened
- Prada is No. 1 again. Prada returned to the top of Lyst’s hottest brands ranking for the first time since the fourth quarter of 2023. WWD reports it rose five places, with demand up 55 percent quarter over quarter.
- The runway turned into shopping. Lyst said the retail launch of Prada’s fall 2026 collection in the third quarter helped turn fashion week attention into shopping interest.
- Celine cracked the top 10. Celine also rose five places and reached the top 10 for the first time. WWD points to its Reebok collaboration, its L’Été collection and well-received men’s and women’s shows.
- The climbers. Bottega Veneta rose three spots to 11th, with demand up 66 percent, driven by interest in Louise Trotter’s debut collection, especially bags and accessories. Dries Van Noten entered at 16th, Diesel returned at 18th and Khaite debuted at 20th.
The hottest products list
Per WWD’s report on the Lyst ranking, the top 10 products for the quarter included:
– Prada Wish Pouch in first place, a style first introduced in 2024.
– Cos Trullo Flap, second, a slouchy top-handle bag at a high-street price.
– Celine and Reebok Freestyle Lo, third.
– Vans Premium Authentic, fourth, riding renewed interest in 2010s fashion.
– Balenciaga Rodeo Bag, eighth.
– Cartier Tank, with demand up 83 percent quarter over quarter.
– Free People Forever Young Bloomer Pants and Phoebe Philo Peak Sunglasses, whose demand rose 525 percent.
Lyst also named Conner Ives, Emily Dawn Long and Mfpen as fast risers. Searches for Conner Ives, known for reworking vintage T-shirts and deadstock, rose 49 percent.
Why people care
The Lyst Index is one of the few public scorecards of what shoppers search for and buy across thousands of stores, so it moves conversations in the industry. This quarter’s list has a clear message: small, specific, characterful pieces beat logo-heavy status bags. A pouch, a sneaker, a pair of sunglasses and a classic watch sit side by side in the top 10.
Prada’s run is also bigger than one product. Prada’s holiday campaign, “Drawing Prada,” landed this week with hand-drawn animation by John Pomeroy, and Runway Magazine gave it a perfect score in its Oct. 29 review. Momentum like that tends to show up in store traffic in December.

What it means for you
- Shopping. The Wish Pouch is the item everyone will be hunting this holiday. If you want one, ask a Prada sales associate on Rodeo Drive about waitlists now rather than in December. Lyst’s list does not include prices, so check the official site before you budget.
- The smart buy. The Cos Trullo Flap sitting at No. 2 proves the slouchy top-handle shape is the trend, not the logo. You can get the look for far less.
- Styling. The list mixes high and low: a Cartier Tank with Vans, bloomer pants with Phoebe Philo sunglasses. That is the formula for a West Hollywood night out right now.
- Money. A classic like the Cartier Tank holds value far better than a trend bag. If you are buying one investment piece this year, the data favors the watch.
- Career. If you work in LA retail or styling, learn the Lyst list. Clients will ask for these exact pieces by name.
Our take (opinion)
Prada wins because it never chases the algorithm; it makes odd, smart things and lets people come to it. The 500 percent number is the headline, but the deeper story is that a slouchy bag from Cos and a 2010s Vans shoe made the same list. Taste is back, and price is no longer the point.
