You are not renting a sofa. You are pre-buying drinks. That one sentence explains the whole Las Vegas table system.
The four parts of a table
- The minimum. The amount you agree to spend on bottles. Discotech puts it simply: a one-thousand minimum means a thousand on drinks, usually two or three bottles.
- The fees. Tax (8.375 percent in Clark County), a venue or service fee, and gratuity. Wynn publishes its stack; most groups do not. Budget twenty to thirty-eight percent on top.
- The host. Every big room employs hosts who sell and manage tables. Promoters bring guest lists; hosts close tables. Some do both.
- The ratio. Doors watch how many men are in a group. Mixed groups get in faster and often pay less.
What the night looks like
You arrive by the time the host gives you, usually before midnight. You skip the main line, check ID, and get walked to the table. Bottles arrive with mixers. When you hit the minimum, anything more is extra.
Three mistakes that cost money
- Not asking for the all-in number.
- Booking the club, not the DJ.
- Arriving late and losing the table.
