Runway Meets Dance Floor: The Fashion Afterparties of November 7 Weekend

This Saturday, November 7, fashion moves into the club in three cities at once: New York, London and Dubai, with a runway-meets-rave night in Detroit the following Friday. Here’s what’s confirmed.

New York: The Fashion Circle Afterhours

POST UP presents The Fashion Circle: Afterhours at The Crown, Hotel 50 Bowery, from 10 PM to 2 AM on Saturday, November 7. It’s billed as a fashion social and dance party for designers, models, stylists and press, with house and techno sets by JAH SQUEEZE, G SARDUCCI (birthday set) b2b GHOST, JADA and ATTRARRE, plus a runway presentation by ATTRARRE. The dress code is “Dress to impress,” entry is at the doorman’s discretion, and it’s 21 and over (POST UP NYC).

London: OBSCURA X-01 Runway Afterparty

The OBSCURA X-01 runway project by @santixsanchex holds its official afterparty at Vespers Club, 133A Rye Lane in Peckham, from 11 PM to 4 AM on November 7. Runway ticket holders get afterparty access while capacity lasts. Sounds come from @killcaskets, @eero2k, @xixi_zxyyy, @w1thdrawalsss, yungbratzh and @khaikatana (whatnightout).

Dubai: Reunion Sessions for Dubai Design Week

Soul Kitchen and Reunion host the Dubai Design Week after-party on November 6 and 7, 10 PM to 2 AM, in Business Bay, leaning into electronic and techno. It’s list-only, strictly 23 and over, and the dress code rules out heavily branded clothes, sportswear, hoodies and shorts (Isola Design).

Detroit: Beauty X The Bass

On Friday, November 13, Motor City Underground stages Beauty X The Bass at Tangent Gallery and Hastings Street Ballroom, 8 PM to 3 AM, combining designers on the runway with dubstep, drum and bass and flow arts (Eventbrite).

The afterparty is now part of the show. Designers who stage a presentation inside the party, like ATTRARRE in New York, get seen by a crowd that’s already dressed up and holding phones.
