Nobody was coming to discover Alexis LaShay Newkirk. So she stopped waiting.
She had already worked every side of the set — filmmaker, writer, producer, actress and model, celebrity barber and coach, host. She knew how a production breathes. What she didn’t have was someone willing to hand her the keys. So she founded her own company, Alexis LaShay Productions LLC (@alexislashayproductions), based in Saint Robert, and put her own name on the door.
One woman, four titles
Founder. Writer. Producer. Lead actress. Her first feature film, Beneath Her Skin, is a sci-fi romantic thriller. She wrote it. She’s producing it. She plays the lead: Maya Vale — half human, half creature, standing in darkness.
And she is backing it herself. Beneath Her Skin is self-funded — no studio permission slip, no waiting for a green light from anyone but her.
This story isn’t invented. She lived it.
The world of Beneath Her Skin comes from Alexis’s own life.
