LA Rooftop Nights in November 2026: Where to Go Up

November is the quiet secret of LA rooftop bars. The summer crowds thin out, sunsets land earlier, and a fire pit plus a good cocktail beats a pool party. This Nightlife Report guide covers the rooftops worth your November nights, from Beverly Hills martinis to the highest open-air bar Downtown, and how to plan around shorter, cooler evenings.

What makes a rooftop good in November?

Three things: heat, cover and an early sunset plan. Look for fire pits, heaters or an indoor bar you can retreat to, and arrive 30 to 45 minutes before sunset, which in November comes early in the evening. Bring a layer. High floors and coastal roofs cool off fast once it’s dark.

Beverly Hills and West Hollywood

Dante Beverly Hills. The ninth-floor terrace at The Maybourne is the LA outpost of the award-winning New York cocktail bar. Time Out and RoamRecs both rank it a top pick for its martini list and hill views. Drinks seating is first come, first served; book dinner if you want a sunset table on a weekend.

Harriet’s Rooftop (West Hollywood). An h.wood Group venue with a clubbier weekend energy. If you want the night to turn into a night out, start here. Our h.wood guest list guide covers how access works at the group’s venues.

The Roof at The West Hollywood EDITION. A calmer option with hill views, better for an early drink than a late scene.

Downtown LA

Perch LA. One of the oldest and most loved rooftops in the city, at Pershing Square (448 S. Hill St.). Patterned tile, trees full of string lights, fire pits on the patio and frequent DJ sets and live bands. Perch recommends reservations; check its live music calendar before you go.

RelatedHalloween in the Six Fashion Capitals

Spire 73. On the 73rd floor of the InterContinental Downtown, billed as the tallest open-air bar in the Western Hemisphere, with fire pits and 360-degree views. The pick for a first-time visitor or a special occasion.

Golden Hour at Level 8. Atop the Moxy (1254 S. Figueroa St.), known for its rotating carousel bar and DJs after dark. It’s open Thursday through Sunday and closed Monday to Wednesday, so plan your night around that.

Cara Cara and Florentín. RoamRecs calls Cara Cara the best all-round Downtown roof; Florentín is the low-key date-night choice.

Westside and the coast

Kassi (Venice) has the best ocean sunset by most accounts, and Élephante (Santa Monica) is a lively coastal dinner. On the coast in November, the sunset is the event. Get there early and dress warm.

How do I plan a rooftop night in LA?

Pick one neighborhood and stay there. Downtown, West Hollywood and Venice are much farther apart in traffic than they look on a map. Check each venue’s event calendar, not just its hours, because private events and ticketed parties can close a roof. Smart casual is the safe dress code everywhere on this list.
