Charli xcx’s black Roberto Cavalli afterparty dress was second-hand, and now fans can shop her tour wardrobe. Vinted announced on October 27 that Charli xcx has partnered with the resale app to wear pre-loved fashion throughout her Music, Fashion, Film tour. Starting Monday, November 16, a curated selection of her personal archive and tour wardrobe goes on sale on Vinted in the UK, US and Australia (Vinted).
Which nightlife looks were second-hand?
The headline find is a black Roberto Cavalli dress. Per Vinted, Charli wore it to the Academy Gala after-party in Los Angeles and again for the tour’s final show in Las Vegas. The seller turned out to be in the audience at the Los Angeles show and saw the after-party photos that same night: “She looked amazing, and it fit her perfectly.”
Other tour finds included an early-2000s Christian Audigier piece reworked into a dress for Austin City Limits and a sheer grey blouse worn in San Diego. One piece is still waiting for its stage debut: a floor-length Donna Karan dress with an appliqué bird motif.
How did Charli xcx and her stylist shop for the tour?
She worked with her longtime stylist, Chris Horan, searching Vinted with terms including “distressed,” “gothic” and “flounce” (Vinted). “Vintage and second-hand are a huge part of my style. Chris and I love mixing older, iconic pieces with newer things,” Charli said in the announcement. “I think it makes a look feel more personal to me and always takes us to a more unexpected place.”
What’s in the November 16 sale?
Looks worn on tour, second-hand finds sourced by Horan, and pieces from Charli’s personal archive, including a leather jacket from R&M Leathers and vintage tees. All proceeds go to the charity Rainbow Railroad, which supports LGBTQI+ people around the world. A behind-the-scenes video of Charli and Horan going through their finds premieres on her social channels on November 8 (Vinted). Sellers can also tag listings #charlixcx to get them in front of the pair for future looks.
