What You Missed: The Last 24 Hours on the Runway

What You Missed · Tue Oct 20, 2026

Dua Lipa wore next spring’s Ferragamo to the opera, the Victoria’s Secret show still owns TikTok, three luxury houses are hunting for designers, and two new beauty brands dropped. Pour something. We’ll catch you up.

By Anthony Perlas. Tue Oct 20, 2026, evening PT. Every item below links to the outlet that reported it; we didn’t add anything they didn’t say.

LOS ANGELES — Busy day? Same. Here’s everything the runway, the beauty counter and the group chat did in the last 24 hours, with receipts.

    1. Dua Lipa went to the opera in next season

Monday night at the Met Opera premiere of Lincoln in the Bardo, Dua Lipa skipped the archive and went straight to the future: one of the final looks from Maximilian Davis’s spring 2027 Ferragamo collection, a black off-the-shoulder gown in shimmering paillettes with a theatrical train, worn with the runway’s own black pumps. She is not the only one shopping that collection early. Sarah Paulson wore Davis’s bronze finale look to the 2026 Academy Museum Gala over the weekend (Vogue).

The plot twist: the red carpet is loving Ferragamo more than the spreadsheet is. The house reported nine-month sales of €675 million, down 2.8%, with third-quarter revenue down 6.2% (Modaes). Gowns are a hot ticket; the earnings call is a cooler one.

    2. The Victoria’s Secret show will not leave the group chat

Two days later, it’s still everywhere. JADE’s debut single “Angel of My Dreams,” which played while Kylie Jenner walked in the $50 million Fantasy Bra, saw a reported 2,049% spike in streams. JADE posted a video joking that nobody on her Tube carriage knew (The Celeb Post).

TikTok hasn’t moved on either. On Tokchart’s fastest-growing hashtags list, comparing this week with last week:

    • #victoriassecretfashionshow: 661 videos, up from 74 (+793%), about 73 million views this week.
    • #vsfashionshow, the official tag: 588 videos (+561%), about 120 million views.
    • #vsfs2026: 104 videos, up from 7 (+1,386%).
    • #housewifetatemcrae: 79 videos, up from 2 (+3,850%). Tate McRae performed “Housewife” at the show.
    • #barbarapalvin: 147 videos (+765%), about 41 million views.
    • And for the other big LA night of the weekend, #academymuseumgala: 155 videos, up from 1 (+15,400%), about 25 million views.

Trackers only count the videos they index, so read these as direction, not a census.

    3. The backstage receipts

The beauty credits are in, and they’re very glam. Hair lead Guido Palau built the bouncy blowouts with sky-high rollers, extensions, L’Oréal Paris Elnett and two Color Wow products. Dame Pat McGrath, back for a second year as makeup lead, went for luminous layered skin, shimmer and big lashes, with a soft liner smudged out under the shadow and glossy lips (Harper’s Bazaar).

Nails had two moods. Megan Moroney’s manicurist Zola Ganzorigt painted a “VS Angel Mani” in OPI: a pink base, the brand’s signature stripes and hand-painted chrome angel wings (Byrdie). On the runway, long, rounded “cashmere” nails, a blush nude with a pearly sheen, showed up on Anok Yai, Iris Law and Ashley Graham (Women.com). Short nails, we’ll call you.

And the skin was prepped like it was going to war. WWD reported Tuesday that facialists Mimi Luzon, Keren Bartov and LA-based Shani Darden worked the VS cast and the Academy Museum Gala crowd with radiofrequency devices, LED, microcurrent and, for most of Luzon’s clients, a 24-karat gold mask. “It’s really important that we don’t have any downtime,” Luzon told WWD.

    4. The after-party went to Chateau Marmont

The official VS after-party was at Chateau Marmont, and Bella Hadid arrived in an all-black lace mini, sleek shades and pointed pumps. Vogue read it as a nod to Britney Spears at the 2001 MTV VMAs and, with Halloween coming, a reminder that iconic red carpet looks make excellent costumes. We’re not saying go as the Björk swan. Vogue is.

    5. Musical chairs, luxury edition

Three big design jobs are open at once. In the last fortnight Anthony Vaccarello ended his 10-year run at Saint Laurent, Veronica Leoni left Calvin Klein Collection after four seasons, and Seán McGirr left McQueen after three years. Kering says Saint Laurent and McQueen will “soon announce” new creative leadership; no successors have been named (Drapers). Start your fantasy drafts.

    6. Luxury is on high alert in Europe

Not gossip, but you should know: hundreds of stores have been looted in Paris and other French cities on the sidelines of protests, including Saint Laurent, Celine, Dior and Louis Vuitton. On Tuesday the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, which runs Paris Fashion Week, said it “expresses its full support for its members.” Some Milan stores have shuttered ahead of planned protests there (Vogue).

    7. Gap x Victoria Beckham, round two

Gap and Victoria Beckham dropped their second collection Tuesday: 37 pieces of cashmere, merino and Gap’s CashSoft knits, statement outerwear, tailoring and new Gap denim (WWD). Posh, but make it the mall.

    8. New on the beauty shelf

    • Dose (Of) Derm. Dermatologist Sheila Farhang, who practices in Tucson and Beverly Hills, launched a rare dermatologist-founded makeup brand Tuesday, starting with one product: a $68 All-in-One Clinical Foundation in six shades with mineral SPF 45 (Beauty Independent).
    • Haeze. Brand incubator Very Great is entering beauty with a fragrance line codeveloped with Target, launching Nov. 1: five layerable scents, a $49 eau de parfum and a $20 solid that doubles as a bag charm. Its creative director, Andy Anderson, is based in Los Angeles (WWD).

    9. Around the world in one scroll

    • Melbourne. Melbourne Fashion Week opened Monday at the National Gallery of Victoria with the all-Indigenous ganbu marra runway, styled by Lindyn Rowland, with designers including Van Ermel Scherer, Rowland Vision and Saretta The Label (National Indigenous Times).
    • Seoul. EXO’s Kai turned up at YSL Beauty’s Holiday Show pop-up at The Hyundai Seoul on Tuesday. The pop-up runs through Oct. 25 (CBC Globe).
    • The receipts on fashion month. Onclusive’s final SS27 report, out Tuesday, counted 30 million mentions: Paris alone drew 21.2 million social mentions, Dior took 21.5% of brand social share of voice, and Thai star Lingling Kwong led celebrity conversation with 18.75% (Onclusive).
    • Throwback of the day. A clip of Naomi Campbell walking Esteban Cortazar’s fall 2003 show was trending on X (X).

    Our take

The fun stuff and the serious stuff landed on the same day: gowns from a season that doesn’t exist yet, a song that went viral two years after release, and real stores boarded up in Paris and Milan. That’s fashion in 2026. We’ll keep watching LA. • Bulgari Is Silent on the $50 Million Fantasy Bra. Here’s Its Case for High Jewelry

Bulgari Is Silent on the $50 Million Fantasy Bra. Here’s Its Case for High Jewelry

Victoria’s Secret · The Business of Jewelry

The 2026 Fantasy Bra was made by Jacob & Co., not Bulgari, and we found no Bulgari statement about the show. What is on the record is how the Roman house prices its own fantasy.

By Anthony Perlas. Tue Oct 20, 2026. Every quote below is from the linked source; Nightlife Report did not contact Victoria’s Secret or Bulgari for this story.

Nightlife Report graphic: Bulgari is silent on the $50 million Fantasy Bra. Here is the Roman house’s case for high jewelry.
    Nightlife Report graphic

LOS ANGELES — The most expensive Fantasy Bra in Victoria’s Secret history was made by Jacob & Co., Vogue and National Jeweler both reported. Bulgari had nothing to do with it. We looked for any Bulgari or LVMH statement about Victoria’s Secret, the 2026 show or the Fantasy Bra, and as of Tuesday, Oct. 20, we found none. So we won’t invent one. Here is what both sides have actually put on the record.

    The Fantasy Bra side

Victoria’s Secret’s own Fantasy Bra page presents the 2026 piece. Vogue reported 4,410 natural diamonds around a 75.54-carat yellow diamond and a $50 million price. Jacob Arabo told Vogue the goal was “a piece of high jewelry that could be worn as a bra. No fabric, only gold and diamonds.”

National Jeweler listed earlier Fantasy Bra jewelers, including Harry Winston, Mouawad and London Jewelers. It noted that the brand sells a $398 Fantasy Bra-inspired top, and that Jacob & Co. didn’t say what happens to the bra after the show.

The Bulgari side: high jewelry as an asset

In February, Vogue Business published “Age of Asset: The State of Jewelry in 2026” by Milena Martins-Alexandre. It defined high jewelry as unique pieces priced from $100,000 and quoted Jean-Christophe Babin, whom it identified as Bvlgari chair:

“Clients are comforted by purchasing a product whose value increases over time. … It has reinforced the investment dimension of jewelry.”

    — Jean-Christophe Babin, to Vogue Business

Babin also told the outlet that “the client overlap between maisons can reach 60% to 80%”, and put the math of luxury plainly: “If you spend €5,000 for one night in a hotel, however, you can probably spend €50,000 for a watch, or €500,000 for a necklace.”

In a Luxury Society interview, Babin said Bulgari had its best year ever in 2025. He argued the brand would grow “because we’ll gain market share” and described the price range: “You can find a beautiful ring at 3500 euros and you have beautiful one-of-a-kind Serpenti necklaces at 2 million euros.” The outlet reported that Babin was moving from CEO to chairman in July 2026, handing operations to Laura Burdese.

    What Bulgari did this season

Instead of a runway bra, Bulgari’s 2026 headline was Eclettica: 128 new High Jewelry designs, which LVMH announced with Babin saying “being eclectic is part of our DNA.” In its third-quarter results, LVMH said Eclettica generated “record-breaking revenue,” as National Jeweler reported.

Next month, Christie’s Geneva will offer “The Bulgari Pink,” a 24.00-carat Fancy Intense Pink diamond ring by Bulgari. The auction is Nov. 10, with an estimate of CHF 10–15 million (US$12–18 million).

    The comparison, without the spin

On the numbers alone, the Victoria’s Secret bra’s reported $50 million price is well above the top of Christie’s estimate for the Bulgari Pink. They are different things: one is a showpiece made for a televised runway, and the other is a stone a family has held for more than 70 years and is now selling at auction. Bulgari hasn’t commented on Victoria’s Secret. If that changes, we’ll update this story.

More on the show: how the Fantasy Bra split fans and moved the stock and what Vogue said about the show.

$50 million for a runway bra or $18 million for a 24-carat pink diamond: which is the real fantasy? Discuss this on the forum.

‘Fandomonium’ and a $50 Million Bra: How Vogue Covered the Victoria’s Secret Show

Victoria’s Secret · What Vogue Said

Vogue covered the 2026 show from the Fantasy Bra to backstage to the nails. Here is what it reported, quoted briefly and linked, so you can read the originals.

By Anthony Perlas. Tue Oct 20, 2026. Every quote below is from the linked source; Nightlife Report did not contact Victoria’s Secret or Bulgari for this story.

LOS ANGELES — Vogue covered the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show of Sunday, Oct. 18, from several angles: the Fantasy Bra, an exclusive backstage look, the red carpet and, at British Vogue, the beauty. We read all of it. Below is what the magazine reported, with short quotes and a link to each piece.

The bra: “a truly excessive piece of jewelry”

In Vogue’s report on the Fantasy Bra, Max Berlinger wrote that the piece features 4,410 natural diamonds surrounding a 75.54-carat radiant-cut Fancy Vivid yellow diamond, that 15 craftspeople spent more than 1,000 hours building it, and that at $50 million it carried “the highest price (by some $35 million) for a Fantasy Bra to date.”

“A big idea for the show was fandomonium. … a truly excessive piece of jewelry and artistry. It’s almost museum quality.”

    — Adam Selman, chief creative officer of Victoria’s Secret, to Vogue

Vogue also quoted the bra’s maker, Jacob Arabo of Jacob & Co., who said his vision “was to create a piece of high jewelry that could be worn as a bra. No fabric, only gold and diamonds.” The same story ran at British Vogue.

Backstage: “divisive” and a “great fashion export”

Vogue’s behind-the-scenes look, also by Berlinger, argued that “there’s a case to be made for Victoria’s Secret being one of America’s great fashion exports”. It cited about $6.5 billion in revenue last year and an estimated 2.9 million viewers for last year’s show. It didn’t pretend everyone agrees:

“It’s no big secret that Victoria’s Secret is divisive—misogynistic to some, old-fashioned fun to others.”

    — Vogue, backstage at the 2026 show

Selman told the magazine, “I don’t want to dress women up like dolls or in costumes”, and described the brand as “the American dream, and certainly the American fantasy.”

The red carpet and the beauty

Vogue’s Christian Allaire rounded up the stars at the show, with Nicole Kidman and Law Roach named in the headline. At British Vogue, Violet Hayward wrote about the beauty: Pat McGrath “masterminding the baby winged eyeliner and glitter”, Guido Palau on the blowouts, and the “cashmere nails” that she said “sparked manicure inspiration.”

A year ago, Vogue Business asked the harder question

For context: before the 2025 show, Vogue Business ran “Can Victoria’s Secret crack the fashion show formula?” by Madeleine Schulz. Selman told the outlet, “It’s the spectacle. It’s supposed to be big”. Brand strategist Ana Andjelic was blunter about the brand’s confidence messaging: “This is so 2010 — we know that, we’ve been there.”

    Our read

Read together, Vogue treats the show as two things at once: a spectacle built for fans and a big American business. The Fantasy Bra is the clearest example of both. We’ve covered the fan and market reaction in Kylie Jenner’s $50 million bra, the TikTok numbers and the AI runway trend.

Runway Now, Producer Next: Nicole Anne Williams’s Plan

Exclusive Interview · Bureau Fashion Week

Model Nicole Anne Williams, back for a second Bureau Fashion Week, tells Nightlife Report about a childhood dream, the discipline behind the glamour, and a plan to go from walking the show to producing it.

By Anthony Perlas. Tue Oct 20, 2026. Interview by written questionnaire; answers are quoted as submitted (emoji omitted).

LOS ANGELES — For Nicole Anne Williams (@nicolewilliams919), The Bureau Fashion Week wasn’t a debut. It was a return. The model says this season was a second time walking for The Bureau, and the plan doesn’t stop at the end of the runway.

In a written questionnaire, Williams introduced herself in the two sentences Williams wanted quoted:

“I’m a model with a passion for fashion, travel, and discovering new places around the world. Living life with confidence, embracing new adventures, and creating unforgettable memories along the way.”

    — Nicole Anne Williams, in a Nightlife Report questionnaire

    A childhood dream, made deliberate

Asked what moment set the path, Williams went back to the beginning:

“Since I was a little girl, becoming a model has always been my dream. It was never just about being in front of the camera; it was about expressing myself, building confidence, and inspiring others through my journey. As I grew older, I realized this dream was something I wanted to turn into reality, and I decided to pursue it with passion, dedication, and purpose.”

    — Nicole Anne Williams

    Round two at The Bureau

One of the runway photos Williams submitted shows the Toshimi Pacumbala backdrop. (Our coverage of that collection: the Toshimi Pacumbala gallery and looks and credits.) For Williams, the week was as much about the people as the walk:

“From runway walks to real connections! My second time walking for The Bureau Fashion Week, and I’m falling even more in love with this journey. Every runway tells a story, every connection opens a door, and every step brings me closer to the dream. The best part? The fashion, the friendships, and the future I’m walking toward!”

    — Nicole Anne Williams

    What people miss

Williams said the public sees the finished walk, not the work:

“They see the glitz, the glam, and the runway walk—but not the discipline, hard work, and diet behind the scenes. Beauty may catch the eye, but dedication keeps us in the game!”

    — Nicole Anne Williams

Next: from the runway to the production

Williams is modeling while studying, and the long game is to run the show:

“I’m walking the runway while working toward my bachelor’s degree, because beauty and brains belong together! My goal is to keep learning, growing, and one day go from walking the runway to producing the show. Why just be part of the vision when I can create it?”

    — Nicole Anne Williams

Can’t Get Cast? TikTok Is Using Superintelligence Video Apps to Walk the Victoria’s Secret Runway, Dogs Included

    AI Watch · Victoria’s Secret

Within a day of the show, AI video sites were selling a one-photo ‘angel walk.’ None of them is Victoria’s Secret, and the rules they print themselves are worth reading.

By Anthony Perlas. Tue Oct 20, 2026. Compiled from the reporting linked in this story; every figure and quote is attributed to its source.

LOS ANGELES — Almost nobody gets cast in the Victoria’s Secret show. Nobody’s dog does. So TikTok found a workaround: upload one photo, and an AI video template sends you (or the dog) down a glossy runway in giant feathered wings, waving, strutting and blowing a kiss at the end. It runs 10 to 13 seconds, vertical, ready for the feed (MakeViral; Starrd; Media.io).

    How fast it moved

The timeline below comes from MakeViral, one of the template sellers, so treat it as the vendor’s account:

    • Oct. 13: TikTok posts start showing a “Victoria’s Secret AI filter” made from one selfie.
    • Oct. 17: the hashtag #vsecretai starts for AI runway posts. A creator, @fluffie_the_pom, posts an AI Pomeranian in pink crystal wings trotting down the runway with a slice of pizza; MakeViral counts 20,600 views by Oct. 20.
    • Oct. 18: the real show streams live from Los Angeles.
    • Oct. 19: three AI video sites add a ready-made runway template. By Oct. 20, MakeViral counts 42 videos under #vsecretai.

The price of a fake angel walk: about $7.50 in credits at Starrd, and 56 to 126 credits at MakeViral.

Not Victoria’s Secret, and they say so

The sellers are careful about the brand. MakeViral says it “is not linked to Victoria’s Secret.” Media.io calls its version “a fan-inspired effect, not an official Victoria’s Secret product.”

They’re careful about faces, too. The rules printed on their own pages:

    • “Use your own photo, or one of a friend who said yes. Never a celebrity or a stranger.” (MakeViral)
    • “TikTok, Instagram and YouTube all require AI-generated content to be disclosed.” (Starrd)
    • “Use a clear photo you have permission to edit.” (Media.io)

    What Victoria’s Secret actually did

We found no report that Victoria’s Secret used AI-generated models or imagery in the show. Its push this year was people: an episodic series, Angels Among Us, that crowned 21-year-old Solange Omon as its newest Angel (MediaPost), plus ticket drops and a post-show TikTok Live (Adweek) and a bet on creators (Glossy).

    Our take

The pet version is the best version. The rest comes with a rule we already keep at Nightlife Report: we don’t make AI images of real people, and we label anything AI-altered. If you make an angel walk, make it of yourself or someone who said yes, and keep the AI label on. The real runway still belongs to the people who walked it, from Culver City to the models we interview in West Hollywood. Our standards: Modeling isn’t toxic. Gatekeeping is.

TikTok Won’t Let Go of the Victoria’s Secret Show: #VSFS2026 Is Up 2,633% in a Week

    TikTok Watch · Victoria’s Secret

Two days after the runway, the show is still moving on TikTok. Here are the hashtags actually climbing, the numbers behind them and where those numbers come from.

By Anthony Perlas. Tue Oct 20, 2026. Compiled from the reporting linked in this story; every figure and quote is attributed to its source.

LOS ANGELES — Victoria’s Secret built this year’s show for the phone. It streamed live on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok under the official tag #VSFashionShow (VS press room), and the brand followed it with its first post-show TikTok Live (Adweek). Two days later, TikTok is still chewing on it.

The hashtags that are actually moving

These are this week’s numbers from Tokchart’s fastest-growing hashtags list, updated Oct. 20, comparing videos this week with last week:

    • #vsfs2026: 82 videos, up from 3 (+2,633%), about 1 million views this week.
    • #victoriassecretfashionshow: 416 videos, up from 56 (+643%), about 8 million views this week.
    • #vsfs: 143 videos, up from 14 (+921%), about 2 million views.
    • #housewifetatemcrae: 72 videos, up from 2 (+3,500%), about 1 million views. The broader #housewife tag is up 1,070% to 1,579 videos, though not all of those are about the show.
    • #vsfashionshow, the official tag: Toklytics flags it as trending, +772% against its recent average, with 818 million views across the 263 videos it tracks.

    Why ‘Housewife’

Tate McRae performed ‘Housewife’ for the first time at the show, Billboard reports. The tag carrying her name is the fastest climber on the list that’s tied to the show.

    The clips people kept sharing

    • The front row. Videos of Timothée Chalamet and Kris Jenner cheering Kylie Jenner’s walk went viral, Her Campus reports, citing TikTok posts. On X, one nine-second version had 1,986,882 views by Monday (The LA Globe).
    • The vlog. Jenner’s behind-the-scenes YouTube video passed 3 million views (SI Lifestyle).
    • The brand’s own posts. Victoria’s Secret’s TikTok captions, tagged #vsfashionshow, included Adriana Lima hitting her 21st runway and a “Proud mama” post with Kris and Kylie Jenner (Socialpruf’s listing of the account).
    • The biggest number we saw. Virlo Media says the top Fantasy Bra reaction clip, from creator haleyybaylee, pulled 16,056,876 views.

    How we got these numbers

We couldn’t pull counts from TikTok itself: its hashtag pages don’t show them without the app. The figures above come from public trackers (Tokchart, Toklytics) and the outlets linked. Trackers only count the videos they index, so read them as direction, not a census.

  • Kylie Jenner’s $50 Million Fantasy Bra Split Fans and Lifted Victoria’s Secret Stock

Kylie Jenner’s $50 Million Fantasy Bra Split Fans and Lifted Victoria’s Secret Stock

Victoria’s Secret · The Business of Beauty

Fans weren’t thrilled that a first-time show model got the piece the Angels used to wear. Wall Street was: the stock jumped as much as about 4% the next day, and two banks raised their targets.

By Anthony Perlas. Tue Oct 20, 2026. Compiled from the reporting linked in this story; every figure and quote is attributed to its source.

LOS ANGELES — The Fantasy Bra came back. For the first time since 2018, Victoria’s Secret put its diamond showpiece on the runway at Sunday’s show at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, and it didn’t go to a career Angel. It went to Kylie Jenner, walking her first Victoria’s Secret show (Vogue; Seeking Alpha).

The piece is the most expensive Fantasy Bra yet: $50 million, built with Jacob & Co. from 4,410 natural diamonds around a 75.54-carat Fancy Vivid yellow diamond. Vogue reports it took 15 craftspeople more than 1,000 hours, and that the price beats the old record by some $35 million.

    The fans: not exactly dreamy

USA Today reports online viewers and fans “were not exactly thrilled” about Jenner wearing a piece that has historically gone to longtime Angels. The roll call is long: Claudia Schiffer wore the first one in 1996, and Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen and Elsa Hosk have all worn it (Her Campus).

The split showed up under the night’s most-shared clip, a nine-second front-row video of Timothée Chalamet cheering. The LA Globe counted 1,986,882 views by Monday, and reported that the two most-liked replies were skeptics: “This is embarrassing for VS.” and “She shouldn’t be there.” Fans answered right behind them.

    Why Victoria’s Secret picked her

The brand says the choice was the point. Chief creative officer Adam Selman told Vogue:

“Kylie really extends beyond fashion, beyond culture, beyond TV, beyond one singular thing.”

    — Adam Selman, Victoria’s Secret chief creative officer, to Vogue (via Her Campus)

Jenner, in a behind-the-scenes YouTube vlog that passed 3 million views, said the brand asked her “months” ago (SI Lifestyle):

“I grew up watching the Victoria’s Secret fashion shows, and of course, how could anyone say no?”

    Wall Street: loved it

Barron’s reported the stock rose about 4% after the show, its biggest one-day rise in two years (MediaPost). By the Monday close it had settled at $89.98, up 3.02% from $87.34 (BestStocks). Barclays put it plainly in a Monday note:

“What stood out most to us was how closely the show resembled the Victoria’s Secret of the past. In our view, the event was another tangible proof point that VSXY is returning to the core heritage.”

    — Barclays analysts, via Barron’s

    • Barclays raised its price target to $112 from $106 and kept an Overweight rating (TipRanks/TheFly).
    • Morgan Stanley’s Alex Straton raised his to $104 from $101 (BestStocks).
    • Per Barron’s via MediaPost: the marketing campaign started seven months out instead of three, nearly tripling Instagram posts about the show, and 17 times as many items were directly shoppable.
    • The ticker is now VSXY. Earlier this year the company changed it from VSCO (MediaPost).

The critics: ‘as if the past seven years didn’t happen’

Not everyone read the throwback as progress. New York Times fashion critic Vanessa Friedman wrote, “It’s almost as if the past seven years didn’t happen,” as quoted by MediaPost.

Nightlife Report text card: $50 million bra. Fans split. Stock up.
Nightlife Report graphic (text card, no photo).

    Our take

Both camps are right, and that’s the business. The Fantasy Bra used to be a promotion you earned after years on the runway. This year it was a booking for reach, and the market paid for the reach. Fans who grew up on the Angels are allowed to be annoyed, and shareholders are allowed to be happy. The question for the rest of the industry is what this tells working models about how the next big break gets handed out.

We’ve been on this beat all week: the Angels who didn’t make the cut, whether Victoria’s Secret stopped scouting, the fashion internet’s verdict, and the mom who made her LA debut the night before.

From Nueva Ecija to Four Fashion Capitals, Sofhia Flores Credits ‘One Person Believing in You’

Exclusive Interview · Bureau Fashion Week

Filipino model and content creator Sofhia Flores tells Nightlife Report how one designer changed everything, what Bureau Fashion Week really meant, and what the industry gets wrong.

By Anthony Perlas. Tue Oct 20, 2026. Interview by written questionnaire; answers are quoted as submitted.

LOS ANGELES — Sofhia Flores came to Los Angeles with a résumé most models spend a career chasing. The Filipino model and content creator from San Isidro, Nueva Ecija, says the road has run through the runways of New York, Milan, Paris and now Los Angeles, and that it all started with a single designer.

In a written questionnaire, Flores introduced herself in the two sentences she wanted quoted:

“I’m Sofhia Flores, a Filipino model and content creator from San Isidro, Nueva Ecija, proud of my roots and passionate about using fashion and my platform to inspire others. From chasing a childhood dream to walking the runways of New York, Milan, Paris and now Los Angeles, I hope to represent my Filipino heritage with pride while encouraging others to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams.”

    — Sofhia Flores, in a Nightlife Report questionnaire

The week runway fame got argued about

Flores’ story lands in a week when the industry is arguing over who gets the spotlight. At Victoria’s Secret’s Oct. 18 show in Los Angeles, the $50 million Fantasy Bra went to Kylie Jenner, a first-time show model, and USA Today reports that fans weren’t thrilled the piece historically worn by longtime Angels went to Jenner. On Wall Street the show played as a win: MediaPost, citing Barron’s, reports the stock rose about 4% after the event, with Barclays analysts calling it proof the brand is “returning to the core heritage.”

Nothing in Flores’ answers ties her to that show. But those answers speak to the same argument from the other end of the business, where a career can start with one designer instead of a follower count.

    The discovery

Asked what moment set the path, Flores pointed to one designer:

“Modeling has always been my passion and my dream growing up. Everything began when a designer discovered me and gave me the opportunity to walk for her, and from that moment on, the rest is history. That opportunity opened the door to a journey I had dreamed of since childhood, and it continues to remind me that sometimes all it takes is one person believing in you to change your life.”

    — Sofhia Flores

Bureau Fashion Week, beyond the runway

Runway photos Flores submitted to Nightlife Report show the Toshimi Pacumbala backdrop. (Our coverage of that collection: the Toshimi Pacumbala gallery and looks and credits.) Flores called The Bureau one of the best production experiences Flores has had, and said the people made it:

“Bureau Fashion Week was one of the best production experiences I’ve had! Beyond the runway, what made it truly special was reconnecting with my model friends, meeting new people, and building meaningful connections with other creatives in the industry. The entire experience reminded me that fashion week is not just about the shows, but also about the community, the relationships, and the memories we create along the way.”

    — Sofhia Flores

    Sofhia Flores on the runway
Photo courtesy of Sofhia Flores; photographer credit as submitted: @adamlupix

    What the industry gets wrong

Flores pushed back on the idea that modeling and influencing are only the glamorous part people see:

“I think people sometimes see the glamorous side of modeling and influencing without realizing how much work, discipline, and resilience happen behind the scenes. There’s so much more to this industry than photos and appearances, it takes confidence, patience, rejection, and the courage to keep showing up even when things don’t go as planned. I’ve learned that true success is not just about how you look but also about who you are and how you make others feel.”

    — Sofhia Flores

Sofhia Flores in a gown against a brick wall
Photo courtesy of Sofhia Flores; photographer credit as submitted: @adamlupix

    What’s next

Flores said the goal is the same one that started it all:

“I’m working toward the dream I’ve had since I was a little girl and I’m excited to see how far I can take it. I want to keep growing as a model, travel to new places, work with amazing designers, and share more of my journey with the people who have been supporting me. Being able to walk at New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Week is something younger me would have never imagined happening, and I want to keep making her proud.”

    — Sofhia Flores

“I also hope to use my platform to inspire other girls, especially Filipinas, to believe in themselves and go after what they want, even when the journey isn’t always easy. You can follow along with me on Instagram at @sofhiafloress!”
