Palace Opened a Soho Flagship With a Burberry Capsule You Can Only Buy There

Palace unveiled a 2,700-square-foot multistory flagship at 8 Poland Street in London, opening to the public Thursday. A store-only 10-piece Burberry capsule leads with a honey-beige Camden car coat, a cashmere house-check scarf and a Poland Street polo. A separate London-exclusive Palace range embosses every piece with the number 8. The old Brewer Street shop closed Sept. 21.

• The store. WWD reports the new flagship sits at 8 Poland Street in Soho and opens Thursday, Nov. 5. It replaces the Brewer Street location that shut in September.
• The Burberry capsule. A 10-piece, in-store-only collaboration includes the honey-beige Camden car coat with countryside-inspired screen print, a cashmere Burberry Check scarf carrying both logos, House Check pieces (cap, shirts, hooded jacket, board) and a polo with an embroidered Poland Street graphic, Hypebeast reports.
• The number 8 drop. Palace’s own London-exclusive range uses the store’s street number on a Gore-Tex jacket, hoodies, tees, a cap, a tote and accessories, with an infinity motif nodding to the Tri-Ferg logo.
• Why Burberry. Hypebeast notes Burberry joins a British collaborator list that already includes Vivienne Westwood, Fred Perry and Barbour, after global partners like Nike and Gucci.

Palace has spent more than a decade turning London drops into global reseller events; a flagship this size with a heritage-house partner raises the stakes for every piece that leaves Poland Street.
Flagship-only capsules are how streetwear brands turn a store opening into a scarcity event. Palace x Burberry cannot be bought online or in LA on day one, which means reseller channels and London trips become the story. Our take

Opinion. Pairing Burberry’s house check with a Soho skate cathedral is the cleanest British-on-British collab Palace has done in a while. Locking it to one address is annoying for everyone outside London and brilliant for the store’s opening week. We would rather see a small US allocation later than a flood of fakes pretending to be Poland Street exclusives. Until then, treat anything labeled “Palace x Burberry” online with a receipt and a serial check.
