Ask most new models what they’re supposed to do on a runway and they’ll recite it. Indie Safarik won’t pretend: “Im very new to runway and I have no clue what im “supposed” to be doing but i never get nervous, I love the attention and I never take myself too seriously. I just go and have fun.”

Most overrated

“Buying for the label, people will spend thousands of dollars for a logo when the actual clothes arent even cool. Some of the best dressed people arent following fashion at all.Anything trendy is really just copying, having real swag is not following trends its setting them.”

Unpopular opinion

“I think fashion has become so focused on being marketable that its losing its creativity. I also think the industry focuses so much on traditional beauty standards that we’re forgetting the most interesting faces in fashion dont fit the conventional beauty standard.”

The rule she’d break

“That there can only be one statement piece, I say wear it all, do too much, theres no rules when it comes to fashion for me.”

What LA gets wrong

“The obsession with looking perfect, fashion is meant to break rules, its never that serious.”

In five years

“Probably the trends people are making fun of right now, everything circles back into style at some point or another.”

If she ran Fashion Week

“Ide bring back the chaos of the early 2000s runways, indie sleaze is back, fashion has become way to polished.”

For agencies, casting directors and designers: Indie is new to runway, at ease in front of a crowd, and she wants to walk. Find her on Instagram as she presents herself, @Indi3jadee_, or reach her through editor@nightlifereport.app.
